I’m an introvert

A few posts back I mentioned that I don’t go in for sentimentality. We’re all different, the whole life affirming thing is deeply personal. What I find uplifting or distressing might be very different to your view. That said I guess it’s worth sharing some of my likes and dislikes, performing a certain amount of mental autopsy if only to deliver a sense of solidarity to any out there that may have a similar mien.

Introverts are deep thinkers. That won’t come as a surprise, but we’re also very, very necessary, crucial even, when it comes to maintaining balance in the world. That was a mild revelation, for me at least.

If you’re the quiet type, don’t like speaking up, hate doing presentations, and get a little or even a lot worked up at the thought of socialising for extended periods. Well you’re not alone. Nowhere near.

Read ‘Quiet’ by Susan Cain. I don’t say this lightly or often – if you are an introvert it will make you feel so much better about yourself.

And don’t you ever change.
